Training Officer

Can be based in Clontarf or Portlaoise

The purpose of this role is to provide and ensure the provision of appropriate training to IWA staff, volunteers, service users and external stakeholders to ensure quality standards of practice in training and in the organisation.

For the successful implementation of this role there are a number of key relationships which should be fostered and developed.  Primarily these will be with Area Managers, Directors, Project Officers and Service Coordinators and as well as a variety of external stakeholders.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Deliver training in a variety of formats and to a variety of internal and external stakeholders

Assist in design, build and delivery of blended learning modules / course content and contribute to relevant policy developments regionally and nationally

Co-ordinate and support IWA panels of trainers as required

Record all training on the IWA training database or otherwise as required

Provide monthly and other reports as necessary

Contribute to research and development as required

To carry out any other relevant and appropriate duties as may be reasonably assigned from time to time by the Manager

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Training, Experience and Qualifications

 

A third level qualification (minimum level 7) in a relevant field, for example Training, Education, Social Care, Health or other relevant area

2-3 years’ experience of training, preferably in the disability/social care sector

Experience with developing content for virtual or self-paced learning solutions, virtual communities, performance support tools, self-assessments, videos, and curated micro learning.

QQI Level 6 qualification in Train the Trainer

QQI People Handling Instruction Certificate

Experience in the delivery of QQI programmes is desirable

Recognised qualification in Health & Safety is desirable

Experience of delivering training on a commercial basis is an advantage

 

Knowledge and Skills

Excellent presentation skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is essential

Knowledge of disability issues

A full driving license and own car are required

Annual Salary for this role is from €28,407 to €34,373 DOE
